EYFS

We are very fortunate at Reedness to have a large area for our youngest children, which consists of a large indoor classroom featuring a reading corner, interactive TV, sand/water area, construction zone, painting area and a writing/drawing area. Outside we have access to our very own EYFS playground with play equipment, gazebo, reading shed, seating area, mud kitchen, bikes/trikes as well as a large play house.

Our EYFS is very much child led. We have provisions areas set up; however, learning is led by the interests of the children that are in our setting. The children are integrated within the main school and have playtimes with the older children as well as their dinners. We pride our school on been a community with our adult children supporting our younger children through different stages of their development.

As much as possible, we try to cater for all needs and be flexible in our approach to timings and hours. Many of our children access our provision across the week by splitting their time across a couple of days or by coming every afternoon. Our session times are 9am until 12pm and then 12.30pm until 3.30pm. Lunch can be provided at school for an extra cost of £3. Parents can utilize their 15 hours free childcare at our school. Any extra sessions are charge at £10 per session or £15 per day. We do accept 30-hour free codes as well for those parents who are entitled to these.

The aim for our school is for your child to leave in Year 6 by saying that they are: Confident, Happy, Independent, Respectful and Proud. These aims start as soon as children enter EYFS and a huge proportion of own learning links to these.
